Electrocatalysis

Interfaces

Sustainability

Hi! I’m Beichen, a fifth year PhD candidate in Chemical and Biological Engineering working on electrocatalysis at interfaces.

Dynamic Interfaces

Electrochemical interfaces are ever-changing!

At the University of Wisconsin - Madison, I am studying the electrochemical interface and its role in CO2 electroreduction, which converts harmful greenhouse gas into more useful chemicals.

By studying the electric double layer, which forms at the interface between an electrode and an electrolyte, we can better understand reaction pathways and learn how to engineer electrochemical cells for more efficient, more stable, and more selective electrocatalysis.
